Hero’s Journaling Project
The Hero’s Journaling Project is a transformative arts-based program that invites youth to explore and express their personal stories through visual journaling, writing, and creative reflection. Designed to support young people, particularly those navigating major life transitions such as immigration, the project creates a safe and empowering space where participants can process their experiences, build confidence, and discover the strength in their own voices. Through guided artistic practice and storytelling, students are encouraged to see themselves as the heroes of their own journeys, fostering resilience, self-awareness, and deeper connection to their community.
I AM ME Workshops
The I Am Me Workshops are vibrant, joy-filled spaces where queer youth can show up exactly as they are—and maybe even discover new parts of themselves along the way. Through art, storytelling, and creative exploration, participants connect, express, and celebrate their identities in a supportive and affirming community. Whether it’s painting, writing, or simply sharing stories, these workshops are all about building confidence, fostering belonging, and having a little fun while embracing the magic of being unapologetically you.
Music Residency
The Music Residency is where creativity meets collaboration, giving students the chance to explore instruments, songwriting, and self-expression through the power of music. Over the course of the program, participants build skills, confidence, and connection as they experiment with rhythm, melody, and their own unique voice. Whether picking up a guitar for the first time or writing lyrics as a form of storytelling, students are invited to play, create, and be heard—discovering that music isn’t just something you listen to, it’s something you live.
REal Stories, Real People, REal Impact
At VOICES, storytelling is how we build community. Through our programs In School, In Community, and On Stage, we create space for people to be heard, honored, and remembered. We do this by providing a page, a canvas, a microphone, and a stage, to discover the layers of humanity within us and the community. Join us in bringing these stories to life.
